New helmet for USMC & Army

Both the US Marine Corps and the Army plan to introduce the new Enhanced Combat Helmet (ECH) by the end of the year. Unlike most previous helmets, the ECH utilizes polyethylene, which is intended to provide effective protection against rifle projectiles without adding weight - not only against 9mm & fragmentation. The helmets currently in use will then only be used for training and similar purposes in the future.
