New radio communication for US Army

The US Army has awarded a new contract to General Dynamics and Rockwell Collins for the production of 3,726 AN/PRC155 radios. 19,000 units of the accompanying handheld radio AN/PRC 154 have also been ordered. The larger PRC155 weighs 6.4 kg (including battery) and can be carried on the back or installed in vehicles.
