Revision - a global leader in innovative head protection systems and soldier solutions - has been selected by the Dutch Ministry of Defense (MoD) to deliver the Batlskin Viper® P6N helmet system to the Dutch Armed Forces. The contract includes approximately 48,800 combat helmets. Additionally, a 15-year maintenance and support contract with an estimated end date of 2034 has been signed. The custom-made helmet system, developed to meet the strict performance standards and weight requirements of the Dutch Ministry of Defense, represents the first major advancement in helmet technology for the Dutch Armed Forces in over 20 years.
"We are very proud of the helmet system we have developed for the Dutch Ministry of Defense," explains Jonathan Blanshay, CEO of Revision. "Our experienced team of engineers and designers has worked with the latest materials to create a user-centered system that provides better protection, optimized fit, reduced weight, and improved integration possibilities."
Detail: the new Dutch Fractal Pattern. With the new helmets come 55,000 helmet covers in green, tan, and white.
These features combined would ultimately lead to improved operational effectiveness for soldiers, according to Blanshay: "The Dutch Ministry of Defense's switch to the Viper P6N system from Revision follows the trend initiated by Denmark and the United Kingdom to also upgrade their next generation helmet programs with Revision. We expect other NATO countries to follow suit. Our continuous investments in cutting-edge materials and efficient, high-quality manufacturing processes solidify Revision's position to meet the globally growing demand for tailored, advanced military helmets."
"The last version of the Dutch helmets dates back to the early 1990s and needed to be replaced urgently," emphasized the Dutch project leader in the DMO Magazine, Materieel Gezien (Issue 06, 2019). "Ultimately, the helmets from Revision Military were the best in the tests. Among other things, these helmets received the highest rating from the users in the test group."
The Batlskin Viper® P6N helmet system from Revision has been specifically developed to meet the strict standards of the Dutch Ministry of Defense and provides premium protection in a lightweight, integrated helmet system.
The Viper P6N helmet shell is made of advanced materials (including Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene - UHMWPE) to exceed the high protective standards of a lightweight, adaptable, and comfortable helmet system. More than 55,000 helmet covers in the new Dutch fractal pattern "Netherlands Fractal Pattern" will be delivered in the colors green, tan, and white, in addition to all systems being equipped with the industry-leading APEX Liner System from Revision, which provides highest comfort and impact protection and is continuously adjustable. Additional accessories include lightweight, skeletonized accessory rails and a Wilcox® L4 Mount for mounting night vision devices, for example. Revision will begin delivering helmet systems to the Dutch Ministry of Defense later this year.
