New at UF PRO: Delta AcE Plus Gen.3 Winter Jacket

UF PRO is preparing for winter: the Delta AcE Plus Gen.3 Winter Jacket has arrived. Ideal for comfort in the toughest winter conditions. "Among the challenges faced by police and military units when operating in freezing cold conditions are loss of concentration and - if packed in a conventional winter jacket - overheating during strenuous activity," said Armin Wagner, development director at UF PRO. "The Delta AcE Plus Gen.3 Winter Jacket is the solution to these challenges. It keeps the user warm and dry, allowing them to remain clear-headed throughout the operation. And thanks to the hybrid material, there is no risk of overheating."

Wagner added that the new jacket also addresses several other issues that are important for military and police forces.

“Traditional winter jackets make you feel colder when the clothing gets wet from snow or freezing rain,” he explained. “This doesn't happen with the Delta AcE Plus Gen.3 Winter Jacket. Its 100% nylon outer material with a breathable PU membrane is windproof and highly water-repellent. In addition, our proprietary, detachable air/pac® system on the shoulders and back prevents the formation of heat bridges inside the jacket, which would otherwise allow cold to penetrate the skin – and this works even if the jacket gets wet, which is partly due to us using 80 g of G-LOFT® thermal insulation material in the sleeves of the jacket to channel and manage vapors or moisture generated by the body that could contribute to a feeling of cold.”

Wagner also pointed out another drawback of traditional winter jackets: their bulkiness. “Bulky material restricts freedom of movement,” he said. “Wearing a bulky jacket reduces agility, which in turn affects operational performance. Not so with the Delta AcE Plus Gen.3 Winter Jacket. Its hybrid design results in a garment that facilitates freedom of movement.”

With the Delta AcE Plus Gen.3 Winter Jacket, there is also no need to switch between light and heavy jackets in changing weather, according to the UF PRO designer. “Basically, this is pretty much the only jacket you need to carry in your backpack, regardless of the current outdoor conditions or the activity you will be undertaking,” he said. “Since the Delta AcE Plus Gen.3 Winter Jacket is suitable for many different conditions and situations, your backpack will be lighter or have space for other equipment you need to successfully carry out your mission.”

Similarly, Wagner noted that the air/pac® system of the new jacket makes it easier to wear backpacks or heavy plate carriers. “The air/pac® system takes the weight off the shoulders and upper back,” he said. “This helps you use your strength for more important things. It also increases overall comfort, which in turn helps you focus on the mission.”
