NATO Bridges for Latvia

10/06/2021By Redaktion

General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) announced today that it will deliver the amphibious bridging and ferry system M3 to Latvia. Latvia will be the newest NATO customer to receive the proven M3 system. The order was awarded to GDELS by the U.S. Army Contracting Command, Detroit Arsenal, which is leading Latvia's support in meeting the need for additional NATO bridging and ferry solutions. Deliveries also include an integrated logistics support package, consisting of training, tools, and manuals.

With the M3 system, Latvia will be able to contribute to increased NATO presence by providing allied forces with mobility and interoperability with other M3 users as well as with the GDELS Improved Ribbon Bridges (IRB) extensively used by the U.S. and German forces. The amphibious bridging and ferry system M3 can accommodate all NATO vehicles and a 100 m long floating bridge can be built in less than 10 minutes. More information on the M3 bridging system is available directly from GDELS.
