Murphy's Laws of Combat

07/11/2014By Redaktion

The law of Murphy describes internationally what happens when theory collides with reality. Its core sentence: "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong." There is also Murphy's Law for the military. We have summarized it for you:

1. When the enemy is within range, so are you.

2. Incoming fire has the right of way.

3. Don't look conspicuous, it draws fire.

4. There's always a way.

5. The easier way is always mined.

6. Try to look unimportant, they may be low on ammo.

7. Professionals are predictable, amateurs are dangerous.

8. The enemy inevitably attacks in two cases:

a. When you are ready for them. b. When you are not ready for them.

9. Teamwork is crucial. It gives them someone else to shoot at.

10. If you can't remember, the claymore points in your direction.

11. The enemy diversion you ignore will be the main attack.

12. A "sucking chest wound" is nature's way of telling you to slow down.

13. If the attack is going too well, you're walking into an ambush.

14. Don't draw fire, it irritates everyone around you.

15. Everything you do can lead to getting shot at. Even doing nothing.

16. If you make it impossible for the enemy to get in, you won't be able to get out either.

17. Don't share your foxhole with someone braver than yourself.

18. If you lack everything except enemies, you are in the combat zone.

19. If you have secured an area, don't forget to tell the enemy.

20. Never forget that your weapon was produced by the cheapest bidder.

21. Friendly fire is not friendly.
