Also seen at the MSPO in Targi Kielce was the new Polish assault rifle "Grot" - in German: "Spearhead". Also in the video by the friends from FRAG OUT, back then still under the project name "Modulowy System Broni Strzeleckie" (MSBS), which simply means "Modular Small Arms System". And it is also modular, as we can see here in the parts box. The Grot looks very Western at first glance, not only because it is caliber 5.56 x 45 and uses STANAG magazines. The FN SCAR L seems to have somehow been a bit of an inspiration for the weapon from FB Radom.
So far, the weapon has only been introduced as a prototype model. Delivery of the ordered 54,000 units will start this year and is expected to be completed by 2020. The stock makes the weapon adjustable between 843 and 900 millimeters. Effective range is up to 500 meters.
There is also a very nicely designed grenade launcher module for the Grot, but it is not yet ordered by the Polish army.
FB Radom has played a lot and also built its rifle system as a bullpup, which we like very much - with very exciting features such as magazine release in the front by the trigger. We will introduce it separately later.
