Most advanced NH90 flight simulators

02/17/2020By Redaktion
Rheinmetall modernizes the flight simulators for the Helicopter Flight Training Systems (HFTS) GmbH NH90 helicopters of the German Army as a partner in the team. The corresponding order was placed at the end of December 2019. For Rheinmetall, the order value is in the lower double-digit million euro range. The total order for HFTS also includes operation, service and maintenance of the simulators with a contractually guaranteed availability of at least 98% until 2027.
The Bundeswehr thus adheres to the proven operator model of its NH90 simulators through HFTS GmbH. The company, founded in 2004, currently operates NH90 Full Mission Simulators at the Bückeburg, Fassberg, and Holzdorf locations. HFTS GmbH is a consortium held in equal parts by Airbus Helicopter, CAE, Rheinmetall and Thales.
The modernization includes updating to the current configuration of the NH90 (MR1) and also the qualification of the four simulators according to EASA regulations, Level C.
Rheinmetall has extensive expertise with NH90 simulators. In addition to flight simulations, the company has also delivered several NH90 training systems for the training of NH90 ground personnel. In mid-2019, a facility based on Asterion for the Marine helicopter NH90-NTH was put into operation at the Marineflieger-Standort Nordholz. Ground crew training systems had already been delivered to Fassberg before. Here, the ground personnel of the German Army are trained on three true-to-life cockpit replicas regarding the operation and maintenance procedures for the NH90 TTH. All information about the NH-90 Heli.
