Milrem Robotics has delivered the first THeMIS Unmanned Ground Vehicle to the Spanish Ministry of Defense. The Ministry awarded the contract for a THeMIS UGV to A.Paukner, S.A., the representative of Milrem Robotics in Spain, through the Directorate for Armament and Material.
The THeMIS is being procured as part of the Scorpion program, launched in early 2021 to evaluate the capabilities of existing unmanned ground vehicles. The first phase of the program will define a list of missions that can benefit from the use of unmanned ground systems.
"THeMIS has already proven itself in 12 countries, including seven NATO members, as a capable, rugged, and versatile system. We are pleased that Spain has joined as the 13th user of THeMIS and has chosen Milrem Robotics as a partner to build its capabilities in robotic and autonomous systems," said Kuldar Väärsi, CEO of Milrem Robotics.
