For those who protect our freedom and safety, only the best equipment is good enough! From November 19th to 22nd, 2019, Rheinmetall will present a part of its extensive product portfolio for police and security forces at the international security trade fair MILIPOL in Paris at Booth 5 K 026.

Protected Special Vehicle Survivor R

The Survivor R is a symbol of security and mobility. The German state police forces of Berlin, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Saxony have already ordered this highly mobile and well-protected vehicle for their special forces. Currently, the Survivor R is competing in Germany to become the new standard special vehicle for federal and state police forces.

The Survivor R was developed in cooperation with the special vehicle manufacturer Achleitner. It is based on a powerful 4x4 truck chassis from MAN and a cabin made of armored steel. This high-mobility vehicle, capable of speeds over 100 km/h, combines automotive mass production technology with state-of-the-art protection technology from Rheinmetall.

The consistent use of civil-commercial and military series components enables a competitive vehicle price as well as worldwide maintenance and repair within the Rheinmetall MAN service network. This makes the Survivor R a cost-effective, easy-to-maintain vehicle platform with low life cycle costs and high operational readiness.

The armored monocoque cabin can be discreetly customized with adaptive protection elements for changing threat situations and comes standard with a protective ventilation system against nuclear, biological, and chemical warfare agents. Despite being well-protected, the external appearance of the Survivor R is intentionally civilian and optically de-escalating for police operations. The interior is bright, ergonomically designed, and offers sufficient space for a crew of up to eleven individuals. Remote-controlled weapon stations can also be integrated into this versatile vehicle. At MILIPOL 2019, Rheinmetall will showcase the Survivor R with the Fieldranger weapon station. This variant is designed for protecting airports or engaging militarily equipped and active terrorists.

Special Operations Equipment

Rheinmetall offers a wide range of pyrotechnic operational equipment. For access scenarios, the proven portfolio includes multiple bang grenades as well as improved flash bang grenades with Bottom-Top-Venting (BTV) technology. They are characterized by high handling safety and precision in effect and reliability. To illuminate the operational environment at night, Rheinmetall has developed a broad portfolio for signaling and field illumination. This includes the handheld rocket Mithras, available for ranges of 300, 600, and 1,000 meters with visible or infrared illumination.
