Tomorrow, the Lynx Brutality will take place for the first time in Kočevje, Slovenia. Over two days, a total of eight challenges will be held. For six stations, a rifle and sometimes a pistol are required, while for two stations only a pistol is needed.
But how did it all come about? Well, in 2009, Karl Kasarda from InRangeTV started holding a 2 Gun Action Challenge in Tucson, Arizona for the first time. The philosophy was "shooting under physical exertion", preferably under combat conditions, using unfamiliar and unfavorable positions.
This means you don't really need to remember the stages. What is needed, however, is accuracy, even when the shooter is exhausted. Ten years later, in 2018, the first "Desert Brutality Match" took place. In the same year, the competition went international with the "Finnish Brutality". The format has since expanded, also under the continuous coverage of InRangeTV. Since 2019, Russel Phagan aka SinistralRifleman has also been involved in Brutality Management, bringing his decades of experience to the table.
Equipment from Blokeontherange for Lynx Brutality 2022.
Now in 2022, Polenar Tactical - somewhat last minute - brings the first Brutality version to Slovenia. Once registered, participants will receive additional information. The GPS coordinates of the range, hotel and equipment tips, as well as what is necessary for traveling with firearms.
At least 250 rounds for the rifle, and at least 150 rounds for the pistol are required. Those with only 10-round magazines for the rifle will be marked separately in the scoring. Additionally, there is a Q&A video from Polenar. HERE is the Lynx Training Center online.
But even for those who cannot or do not want to shoot, there is entertainment to be found. Spectators can participate in two stages. Additionally, a kind of fair takes place on the premises.
Over 20 exhibitors provide interesting content. There is also a raffle, food trucks provide refreshments, and beer is available for everyone who no longer needs to shoot. Sounds like a lot of fun!
We will also take on this challenge, even though we are far from the required fitness level. We will tell you all about it.
Our weapon of choice is an Oberland Arms OA-15 SL10 with EOTech EXPS 3-2 and G43 STS Magnifier. The pistol is, of course, a Glock 17 Gen5, with Holosun 508T-RD-X2, ZEV Trigger and Magwell, as well as Stippling by Black Trident.
We are very excited and will keep you updated on the following days! Wish us luck!
