Introduced at the Shot Show, the new protective vests from Crye Precision are now available on their website. The Low-Vis (LVS) vest is pre-formed and the ballistic protection is sewn in with the outer fabric. Therefore, inserts do not need to be added separately. Crye calls this technique Insert As Vest (IAV) and thereby reduces the overall size. Due to the pre-formed contours, it should be very comfortable to wear, and to ensure that it stays that way, its own stand (shown below the vest) is included. Two stretch pockets are also sewn on to allow for carrying radios or magazines.
The Crye LVS provides protection up to NIJ-0101.06 Type IIIA. If this is not enough, there are other variants that allow for the use of thin protective plates up to 3/4" inch. Custom covers also allow for color changes (Black/Grey/Multicam), in addition to carrying up to three magazines or inserting side protection plates.
