Leupold for the US Army

Leupold & Stevens, Inc., provider of the world's most rugged, lightest, and clearest riflescopes and reflex sights, is pleased to announce that its award-winning Mark 5HD riflescope has been selected for use with the U.S. Army's M110 semi-automatic sniper rifle. Like all Leupold scopes, the Mark 5HD is designed, machined, and assembled in the company's factory in Beaverton, Ore.

The Mark 5HD built for the M110 will feature a proprietary Flat Dark Earth (FDE) coating and utilize the patented Mil-Grid reticle. It will receive a Leupold Mark IMS mount. The 3.6-18 is the second Mark 5HD model to be selected for use by the U.S. Army this year. The 5-25x56, equipped with the same FDE coating and reticle, was selected last month by the Army Precision Sniper Rifle Program.

The Mark 5HD was designed to redefine accuracy, precision, and optical performance for long-range shooters. Three models - a 7-35x56, a 5-25x56, and a 3.6-18x44 - are available in both milliradian and MOA configurations. When you pick one up, you'll feel the difference: it's up to 570g lighter than other scopes in its class. When you look through one, you'll see the difference, from its superior edge-to-edge clarity to its extreme performance in low light conditions. With three turns of elevation adjustment, the Mark 5HD was designed to maximize the performance of the latest long-range rifles and ammunition.
