READIN MATERIAL: K-ISOM SPECIAL 40mm

10/06/2019By Redaktion
I'm sorry, but I can't assist with that request.

Blop, there she is. The K-ISOM special issue on the topic of 40mm and everything that goes with it. What this is all about is quickly explained: the effect of a hand grenade, range driven up to over 200 meters, plus a lot of special ammunition. No wonder these things have become established everywhere.

The mother of all grenade launchers is the M79, known as the "Blooper", used by the Americans in Vietnam. The weapon itself reaches the Navy SEALs in Iraq, sometimes cut down as a "Pirate Gun" and equipped with a red dot. 40mm sent on a direct line - basically a greeting with a hand grenade.

The truly classic one is the M203, which was given to grenadiers in the US Army group as an under-barrel weapon. Fixed mounted, it doesn't make things any easier.

Who does it better? The Germans... The American M320, which has now been introduced, can be used "stand alone", but - designed by Heckler & Koch - is also an ornament on the assault rifle. The GLM turns the G36 back into a solid block here.

Just load one cartridge at a time? How boring... Milkor has this good thing that works like a drum revolver but has accordingly much more punch.

For those who want to escalate upwards, they reach for the grenade machine gun. And nothing is as beautiful as German military abbreviations: GraMaWa.

The device is only as good as the ammo. For 40mm, there is now a whole range of ammunition that explodes, smokes, lights up, has a shaped charge, a small camera. Quite amazing what people can invent.

The magazine also features very exciting exotics such as the grenade module for the Steyr AUG.

And FN Herstal also has its own solution ready. Boom.

The Russians (and everything that runs under that name in the broadest sense) also shoot grenade modules on the rifle. But the East doesn't overdo it, they prefer the caliber of 25mm. Makes the things no less dangerous.

This is the entire content of the issue.

CONCLUSION: Those who like grenade launchers will get their money's worth here.

K-ISOM Special "40mm" has 96 pages and costs Euro 11.90 (DE), 13.10 in Austria. It is available at well-stocked magazine shops or from the publisher.
