ENFORCE TAC - L3 Insight NGAL for Special Forces

02/16/2017By Redaktion

Insight recently introduced the new New Generation Aiming Laser (NGAL). IEA Mil-Optics will present the NGAL at the ENFORCE TAC trade fair in Nuremberg for the first time. The NGAL is the size of a credit card (see image below) and weighs only 130g (including battery).

L3 Insight is a world leader in night combat (night vision, thermal imaging, fusion, and target lasers) and has produced around two million lasers so far, including the predecessor model, the NGAL, which is used by US Special Forces as the AN/PEQ15.

Thanks to its very small and flat design, the NGAL can be mounted at 12 o'clock without obstructing the aiming area. Special units worldwide have been relying on lasers from L3 for decades. Due to the extremely robust and compact design, as well as the outstanding reliability of the lasers, the new NGAL will meet the requirements of global special forces. And this is the most exciting image: this is what the future setup for the German Special Forces Command (KSK) could look like. Alongside the ongoing procurement of their own assault rifle – the HK416A5 has good chances here – the NGAL is also on the shortlist as a laser targeting aid in the separate tender for the equipment of the upcoming KSK standard weapon.
