IWA OutdoorClassics will not take place in 2020

The rumors have proven true and now it's official, no IWA this year. Here is the press release with all further information:

Against the backdrop of the ongoing corona pandemic and its impact on the global economy, NürnbergMesse has decided not to hold IWA OutdoorClassics in September 2020. The uncertain situation is posing challenges for the industry that have never been seen before, leading to a decrease in willingness to invest, along with declining revenues and production stoppages. At the same time, limited business activities due to government orders and international travel restrictions are making it difficult for trade fair participants to plan and prepare for their involvement.

"We would like to express our gratitude for the numerous trustworthy and constructive discussions with industry representatives in recent days that have supported our decision-making. Unfortunately, our goal of creating a special experience on an international level for exhibitors and visitors at IWA OutdoorClassics, as well as facilitating the diverse development and expansion of business relationships, cannot be achieved on its usual high quality level under the influence of the corona crisis," explains Petra Wolf, Member of the Management Board of NürnbergMesse. Originally, around 1,550 exhibitors from 60 countries were expected to participate at IWA OutdoorClassics 2020, with over 45,500 trade visitors from 120 countries attending the event in 2019.

Save the Date: IWA OutdoorClassics in March 2021

The next IWA OutdoorClassics will take place from March 12 to 15, 2021. The event will return to its established spring date. "The need for information and exchange will be greater than ever after this crisis. That's why we are now looking forward and setting the course for next year," says Rebecca Schönfelder, Event Manager of IWA OutdoorClassics. "IWA OutdoorClassics 2021 will serve the industry as a platform for global economic restart. Due to travel restrictions caused by corona, the previously announced IWA Customer Circle is expected to meet for the first time in early summer 2020 to discuss the further development of IWA OutdoorClassics. To ensure early planning security for exhibitors, IWA OutdoorClassics 2021 will be held as a trade fair without consumer participation.
