2020 was not a good year for trade fairs, including IWA, but the outlook is clearly forward: Over 900 companies have already registered to participate at the moment. The industry will meet from March 12 to 15, 2021 at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center. A detailed hygiene concept offers exhibitors and visitors a safe and successful visit.
"From September 1, 2020, trade fairs and congresses in Bavaria are allowed to take place again. The basis for this is the hygiene concept of the Bavarian State Government. Its implementation provides the prerequisite for a safe IWA OutdoorClassics 2021 here in Nuremberg," says Petra Wolf, member of the management board of NürnbergMesse, and adds: "NürnbergMesse is well prepared. Enhanced hygiene standards are, as the name suggests, standards. Thanks to the generous space available in the exhibition center, we are planning wider aisles, so that the distance can also be maintained there. We offer our exhibitors and visitors their own catering hall, separate meeting facilities for exhibitors to be able to hold discussions away from their own stand if there are space constraints on their own area. In addition, our ventilation concept ensures that the air in all halls is always fresh. We completely exchange the entire amount of air multiple times per hour and do not use recirculated air." According to the Bavarian hygiene concept, exhibitors are required to separately record contact details with conversation partners (in conversations without a face mask). To technologically support the exhibitors in this, NürnbergMesse provides the Lead-Tracking system "LeadSuccess" available. Cashless payment, as learned from public life, will be available in all areas (catering, kiosks, parking) and is another component of the hygiene concept.

The good registration numbers seven months before the event show that the industry is committed to the IWA OutdoorClassics: "The cancellation of IWA 2020 caught us all off guard. It is all the more pleasing that today already over 900 exhibitors have confirmed their participation in IWA 2021. For us, a strong signal of how much the industry wants to meet again and exchange, how much value and importance it attaches to the annual industry gathering. We do everything for that! The event team is working hard, with passion and dedication, on the preparations for March 2021. Even if Corona is not over yet at the beginning of next year - the IWA will take place, as of August 2020! With our hygiene concept, we are well prepared to hold an IWA even under Corona conditions. We are confident that we can offer all our customers both security and success, as they know and appreciate it from their industry meeting IWA! And with further positive developments in the infection situation, we also see a chance for relaxation of the mask requirement," says Rebecca Schönfelder, department head of IWA OutdoorClassics. Trade visitors can look forward to numerous exhibits of traditional gunsmithing and knife making craftsmanship with centuries-old tradition and the most modern production technology for high-precision sports weapons and optics. "A visit to the IWA will again become an experience and networking event, which we have all missed this year! We are looking forward to bringing the industry back together at IWA 2021," says Schönfelder.
The IWA OutdoorClassics is organized by NürnbergMesse, with the Verband Deutscher Büchsenmacher und Waffenfachhändler (VDB) and the Verband der Hersteller von Jagd-, Sportwaffen und Munition (JSM) as the supporting organizations. The event is exclusively reserved for trade visitors; children and adolescents under 18 are not allowed entry. Tickets to the IWA OutdoorClassics will only be issued to visitors of corresponding specialist retailers, authorities, and security companies with appropriate identification. The next IWA OutdoorClassics will take place from March 12 to 15, 2021.
