INTERVIEW: Now brand new - DNS Alpha

02/15/2021By Redaktion

The development has just begun and will not stop, we are sure of it. Last week we introduced you to the first piece of equipment from DNS Alpha, a new company that aims to make a name for itself as a premium supplier. Just because everything is new doesn't mean there aren't well-known people behind it: behind Development Never Stops we find Marcel G. Geser, who has been researching and designing innovative equipment developments for sports, outdoors, and agencies since 2009. Together with Tim Vetter, formerly Lindnerhof-Taktik, they are now launching a complete new equipment line as DNS Alpha, targeting agencies and special applications. We are very excited to see what comes next and have approached DNS Alpha for an interview to find out: Who are you? What do you do? What is coming?

SPARTANAT: DNS Alpha starts at the very beginning, with the first layer. We recently reviewed your top-quality Merino underwear. So, what else is coming?

DNS Alpha: We intentionally chose a natural fiber as a baselayer so that in the overall concept with mission clothing, insulation layers, and moisture protection, we can achieve the best possible breathability and very good moisture management. We expect the first mission clothing this summer and insulation and moisture protection clothing in the fall from our dealers.

SPARTANAT: With a new high-quality manufacturer, we are always very curious: Where does DNS Alpha come from? And where does the name come from?

DNS Alpha: DNS stands for Development Never Stops, as does the company of the same name in Switzerland. Development Never Stops was founded in Zurich in 2009 and has developed clothing, equipment, and process technologies for sports, industry, the outdoors, and the military with its own development studio.

In 2019, DNS Alpha was founded in Switzerland and later a subsidiary in Germany with the aim of making the combined knowledge of DNS accessible to our customers with marketable products. Through various customer projects, we have gradually developed our own collection, which we will be releasing to the market throughout 2021.

SPARTANAT: You want to play in the premier league: What are the quality criteria that define DNS Alpha?

DNS Alpha: We have recognized that most clothing systems do not match in terms of material selection and fit, or have been strongly assembled based on brands rather than functionality.

Since we require a very high level of manufacturing quality from our partners, I would define quality criteria such as:

- Capturing body data

- Fit

- Moisture management

and material selection as our quality criteria.

SPARTANAT: Where is DNS Alpha already in use? Where will we see it soon? And where can civilians buy gear from you?

DNS Alpha: Currently, our products are in use in Central Europe, and have also been featured in trade publications. Our focus is currently on police and military units, as well as on technical solutions for work deployments.

The dealers we work with will gradually be adding our collection online. You can see where you can inquire now on our website.

SPARTANAT: What is your favorite piece of equipment from your first collection that you would like to recommend to us?

Currently, two products come to mind: the Merino Slim LS Shirt and the Light Insulation Hoody, which have become my daily companions.

Here we have presented to you the DNS Alpha Merino Underwear consisting of a Merino T-Shirt and Jockey Short as well as Merino LS Shirt and Jockey Tights. You can get DNS Alpha from all retailers carrying DNS ALPHA. And more DNS Alpha reviews on SPARTANAT coming soon...
