SAAB has received an order from the Norwegian armed forces to deliver ammunition for the recoilless Carl-Gustaf® anti-tank weapon.
The order is signed within a 15-year framework agreement that allows the Norwegian armed forces to order ammunition and weapons for Carl-Gustaf. This includes, among other types of ammunition, the new programmable high-explosive round HE 448. In January 2021, Norway became the 14th user of the latest Carl-Gustaf M4.
The programmable high-explosive munition HE 448 provides the Carl-Gustaf gunner with the ability to quickly configure a round. The wide range of ammunition available for Carl-Gustaf increases the tactical flexibility of the system and enables quicker effects, higher hit probability, and greater effectiveness for the soldiers.
