Question to the children, adolescents: "OK, who helps you?" After a few minutes, the answer has always come from the children, adolescents: "I help myself!" (I SAVE MYSELF) This means that every child from the age of 6 is responsible for their own safety! At x there are special tips and tricks for the age groups of 6-10 and 11-14 year olds.
One opinion from an elementary school principal at a school in southern Austria, where one of my assertiveness courses took place: "The main component is the active perception of dangers on the way to school. Learning with sustainability is a major goal of the course. The students have the opportunity in a assertiveness course to find out when and if they are allowed to engage with a stranger or how close they can approach them without being in danger. The team around Markus Schimpl attempted in the course with tricks to lure the children into a car, which after several practice sessions, no longer succeeded with any schoolchild. The children were shown directly on the street what to do if they are followed by a stranger on the way to school. A side effect of the course is also traffic education under emotional stress, especially the safe crossing of the street after the required left and right look or the decision to run away if time is not enough to cross the street safely. After completing the course, the students felt safer because they had learned to differentiate when it is dangerous for them and when it is not. Furthermore, they now know how to behave correctly in an emergency situation and thus can take care of their own safety."
By now, a five-figure number of students have attended these courses. Practical implementation: The assertiveness course is divided into a theoretical part in the gym and two practical parts on the street for two hours each. It has proven ideal to visit a theory unit in the first half of the school year and a few days later a practical session, as well as a second practical session in the second half of the school year for revision. This guarantees a sixty to seventy percent protection throughout the entire school year.
A self-defense technique is good if it works, no matter how it looks. Techniques should have a probability of functionality of over 90%. The techniques described here are not aimed at incapacitating someone, but only serve to free oneself from attacks in a standing position or to distract the attacker in order to gain the necessary 1-2 seconds to escape.
Defense against possible attacks in a standing position, defense against front kicks, defense against front strangulation, defense technique against being grabbed from behind with and without the arms being restricted, defense technique against attackers trying to pull hair, defense technique against headlock, chain fist defense technique, knee strike as a defense technique, stop kick as a defense technique, general use of tools, use of pepper spray, self-defense with weapons, self-defense against weapons, knife defense, ...
