HOW TO: Camouflage with Krylon

In our last post, we showed you how to handle Krylons properly. Original camouflage sprays are available at CAMOSTORE. Today, we want to take the next step and try a simple camouflage. Let's get started!

As shown last time, the basics still apply. So, maintain a sufficient distance, shake well, and cover the surrounding area properly so that everything is not spray-painted. We want to save our test box and will give it a simple three-color pattern.

First, we removed the masking tape and ensured a somewhat even base coat in beige. Then we let everything dry well.

In the meantime, we collected some thin twigs and a few leaves from the ground. These will be our camouflage pattern stencils. Simply distribute the leaves and branches as desired over the box. Once that is done, Krylon comes into play again. We chose a medium green tone and sprayed everything.

Unfortunately, no photo was taken of the intermediate step, but a video was made instead. In the video, you can see the entire process.

Once the green has dried, simply rearrange the leaves and twigs as desired and move on to the next color. In this case, it is already the final color. We opted for a dark brown. What is really important to note here is that the last color determines the brightness of your camouflage.

Meaning, if you end with a sandy color, you will achieve a very light camouflage paint that may be too light for our region. Therefore, we chose a brown tone that blends well with the earth color of the ground.

The light base coat provides the necessary depth of the pattern, and the green provides good gradation. We are very satisfied with the end result. Of course, you can use more than three layers of paint and be bolder with the leaves than we were, but we hope we could show you the basic approach.
