Foxi from Team T.A.O. has sent us a little HOW TO, which is a good idea for those who want to use IR patches purely as display items without function: In search of infrared reflective patches, he ended up in special shops for officers. Which was not helpful. Making them himself was also not an option until his girlfriend brought out some old photos:
“She had a whole stack ready to throw away, where I saw a few photos that were all black. I simply cut out small squares from these and glued Velcro on them. The result is impressive. In the meantime, I also have an original one, but I made 20 pieces of my fakes in the simplest way. I think everyone has a few ruined photos lying around at home, otherwise just lock the camera in the bathroom, turn off the lights and the photoshoot can begin.
So, to write down again slowly:
1) Look for old photos that were taken at night, or take some in a dark room and have them developed.
2) Cut out small squares.
3) Stick Velcro on them.
4) Done! (Perfectionists can go over them with self-adhesive clear film to achieve longer durability.)
Special THX to Foxi!
