On February 21, 2024, the Budget Committee in Germany approved another 25 million euro allocation. A total of around 2.2 billion euros will be invested in clothing and personal equipment for the Bundeswehr.
Since Russia's attack on Ukraine two years ago, the topic of armament has been a high priority in Germany. A total of around 2.2 billion euros will be invested in the continuous provision of the Bundeswehr with clothing and personal equipment. This primarily involves the procurement of combat clothing, protective vest systems, combat helmets, and 110-liter rucksack systems continuing the advanced procurements ordered in 2022. In addition, there will be procurement and regeneration of clothing and equipment for special forces, as well as the introduction of a new clothing system for the Navy. The investment also includes operating expenses for the continued financing and expansion of storage capacities of the Bw Clothing Management GmbH, as well as for the provision of a mobile operational reserve.
