Glock 46 for the police in Saxony-Anhalt

02/13/2019By Redaktion

The Glock 46 will replace the current SIG Sauer P6 duty pistol of the police in Saxony-Anhalt. Around 6,400 officers are expected to be equipped with the new pistol by the end of 2021. Police recruits can look forward to it, as they are set to be among the first to receive the Glock 46.

What makes the Glock 46 unique is its rotating barrel locking system. This design allows the weapon to be disassembled without pulling the trigger - a key requirement of the Technical Directive "Pistol." Currently, the Glock 46 is not intended for the civilian market.

For more detailed photos of the Glock 46, check out HERE on The Firearm Blog. They have also disassembled the Glock 46 there.

HERE is the press release from the Ministry of the Interior for Saxony-Anhalt.
