Glock 19 for the US Army?

The Chief of Staff of the US Army, Mark Milley is allegedly working to cancel the Modular Handgun System (MHS) solicitation and instead procure the Glock 19 for the Army. The downside would be that they were actually looking to test, find, and introduce a better pistol caliber than 9x19mm. The advantage would be that they would save themselves the lengthy and $17 million selection process, and - if they can piggyback on the SOCOM contract for the G19 - the procurement costs would be 92 million instead of the estimated 350 million dollars. Glock is likely to be pleased...
