Tomorrow, on August 26, 2018, the major event "Police and Military Police. From the beginnings to the present" will take place at the Vienna Museum of Military History with free admission.
At the museum's outdoor area, historical reenactment actors bring to life the history of the origins of the centuries-long development of police and military police up to the present day. Legionnaires, citizen patrols, city guards, soldiers, and police officers from different eras are all part of the event.
Historical and current vehicles will also be presented by police officers and military police. The exhibited fleet ranges from motorcycles, patrol cars, armored vehicles (SW4), a hussar, water cannons, and police boats to the Mercedes-Benz G 500 and the futuristic KTM X Bow!
Demonstrations by the elite unit WEGA, the rapid response force of the military police, as well as the police and military dog units, bring the world of special units closer to the audience. What is usually only seen in movies or on TV, can be experienced at the Museum of Military History. The special units are within reach, providing information about their training, equipment, and daily lives. Another highlight is the insights into the world of forensic evidence and crime scene investigation. Experts will showcase the work of "CSI - Crime Scene Investigation" at the Museum of Military History! An extensive children's program ensures excitement among the youngest visitors!
