New helmets: Gentex is a big player in SOCOM.

The American Special Forces Command US SOCOM has opted for new helmets and hearing protection. Both come from Ops-Core, which has been part of the Gentex Corporation since 2011.

The headset is the AMP Communication Headset, which we briefly tried on at the Shot Show 2019. Not exactly cheap, but very good in terms of audio experience.

The ballistic helmet will be the FAST SF Super High Cut Helmet. Lighter with even better protection compared to the "old" Ops-Core helmet. In official terms it is called SPEAR FTHS (Family of Tactical Headborne Systems). A non-ballistic version and the upgrade armor will also be issued to the soldiers.
