Fresh big cats for Italy

Italians like big cats. Italy will procure 250 Leopard A7 tanks. The decision is not as surprising as the number, which is twice as high as expected. Meanwhile, a country in the East is taking the easier route: Romania has signed a "Letter of Intent" to acquire American Abrams tanks.

What Italy still has to decide on is a new infantry fighting vehicle. The Lynx KF41 is in the running, but there are clear indications that the Italians will likely opt for 100 CV90MKIV, which will be used to equip the armored Ariete Brigade.
