Force protection is our Mission: Rheinmetall at IDEX 2019

02/14/2019By Redaktion

From February 17th to 21st, the trade fair IDEX 2019 is taking place in Abu Dhabi. Under the motto "Force Protection is our Mission," Rheinmetall presents a portion of its extensive product portfolio there.

A significant focus is on the protective expertise of the integrated technology company, which ranges from individual passive ballistic solutions like hard ballistic inserts for protective vests to state-of-the-art active protection systems.

Rheinmetall is introducing the new Hybrid Protection Module for the first time. This is a hybrid module for vehicles that can be used both independently and as an add-on, combining active and passive protection technology. Rheinmetall is also showcasing two variants of its proven Multi Ammunition Softkill System (MASS) decoy launcher system: MASS_OCR with Offboard Corner Reflector and the stand-alone version MASS_ISS with Integrated Sensor Suite for units that do not have their own reconnaissance system against threats such as laser or radar.

Rheinmetall highlights its comprehensive expertise in air defense systems at IDEX 2019 with its innovative Skynex system. In Abu Dhabi, the remotely controlled and network-capable Oerlikon Revolver Gun Mk3 on an HX77 truck, the X-TAR3D search radar, a Cheetah missile, and a high-energy laser effector will be integrated into Skynex.

In the field of training and simulation, Rheinmetall is also one of the leading providers and significantly contributes to the high operational value of modern armed and security forces. At IDEX 2019, Rheinmetall is presenting its approach for integrated simulation-based training of entire ship crews on land with "Total Ship Training." The goal of this concept is to increase operational readiness and reduce training costs while considering modern demands for ship availability and multi-crew concepts.

Rheinmetall sets high standards in the digitization of armed forces with its expertise as a systems house for soldier systems, sensors, effectors, networking, and C4I systems. The high-technology company for security and mobility further expands its leading position in soldier systems with solutions like Argus New Generation or Gladius 2.0. Advanced command systems such as the Tactical Management System TacNet or the Rheinmetall Command and Control Software (RC2S) are also presented at IDEX 2019.

Furthermore, Rheinmetall showcases its extensive expertise in almost all capability categories. This includes tactical vehicles, highly mobile and versatile trucks as the backbone of modern logistics troops, weapon and ammunition systems for threat-appropriate and scalable effects, as well as innovative and network-capable sensors for applications on land, in the air, or at sea. Rheinmetall looks forward to your visit at IDEX 2019, Booth 09-A10!
