FIRST LOOK: PLx-C 1-8x24 - Japan Porsche from Texas

11/20/2023By Redaktion

Finally, we have it in our hands, the Japan Porsche from Texas and of course we want to share our first impression with you. Properly named, it is the LPVO PLx-C 1-8×24 FFP Raptor M8-Meter from PRIMARY ARMS. A big thank you to FERKINGHOFF for providing us with this optic and accessories for testing.

The packaging is very high-quality and already provides you with some information about the contents.

The most important technical data can also be found on it, of course in imperial units. Don't worry, in the detailed review coming soon, we will present everything to you in metric units.

Removing the outer covering, we get to the actual box. Under a magnetic flap, the protective foam is revealed.

So securely packaged, the Japan Porsche from Texas comes to you. Accessories included.

Along with the LPVO, you get two manuals, a sunshade cover, an adjustment turret cover, and of course spare set screws and a suitable battery (both not shown in the image).

The elevation adjustment turret cover can be replaced with a direct adjustable one. Practical for those who regularly shoot precisely at greater distances.

The sunshade cover can be easily screwed on in the front to minimize reflections. Ideal for tactical users.

The magnification adjustment is done through a rotating ring with optional flip lever. The rotational resistance is very well chosen. It is just hard enough that it won't be adjusted accidentally, yet light enough to quickly switch between 1x and 8x magnification.

An illumination for the reticle is also included. You have 10 illumination levels to choose from. An "OFF" position is available between each level.

But now let's move on to the most important part of an optic, the reticle. In the image, you can see the 1x magnification. A clear, distortion-free image all the way to the edge, we really like that.

Here is the reticle at maximum brightness. Almost "daylight bright," we would say. We will find out how the illumination performs in our further tests.

Here is the reticle halfway with 4x magnification. The PRIMARY ARMS PLx-C 1-8x24 FFP Raptor M8-Meter is an optic with the reticle in the first focal plane. This means that when you zoom in, the reticle zooms in as well. This has the advantage that the angles (MOA or MIL) always match.

Now here is the reticle at maximum, both in magnification and illumination. The reticle offers you some reference points for precise shots.

Here it is again without illumination. A very sharp reticle with lots of information for the shooter. That's why a separate user manual for the reticle is included.

The short video by PRIMARY ARMS itself gives you a good overview of the optic.

Our first impression is very good. We understand why this optic consistently receives very positive reviews and is also used by authorities. This optic is not cheap, but you are also buying top quality, which comes at a cost. Compared to similar optics from competitors, the PRIMARY ARMS PLx-C 1-8x24 FFP Raptor M8-Meter is relatively affordable.

The PLx Compact 1-8x LPVO is available directly from Ferkinghoff International starting at 1,925 EUR.
