Fighting Fit: Train like in prison

07/31/2019By Redaktion

No, this is not a book with sports instructions for married men. It's more about the possibility of training with the simplest means. Let's call it what it is: Bodyweight. Prison is a stylization, but the training possibility is great. But let's look inside the book.

In prison, there is no fitness center available. Your own body is what needs to work. With very few tools. That's what makes the magic of this book and training method.

The rest is quite simple behind bars: there are six basic exercises: push-ups, squats, pull-ups, leg raises, bridge, handstand push-ups. That's all you need to do to get fit. Let's put it this way ...

The magic is this: a progression that is repeated endlessly. Adapted to what you can do. From very weak to perfection. Or take the example of push-ups: from vertical wall push-ups, if you can't do anything, to one-arm push-ups. You can really practice a lot ...

The exercises are very well explained. A few pictures, precise description, defined training goal. All of this is really well done in this book.

If you want to set a goal: the one-arm handstand push-up is definitely worth striving for. It will take some time, but if you achieve that, you are amazing. Let's roll.

Be your own coach. The program from "Trainieren wie im Knast" is not the problem. The problem is your own discipline to follow through. Otherwise, the book is a really good training aid for people who want to consistently build a more than solid foundation. SPARTANAT recommendation for the book.

"Trainieren wie im Knast: Der progressive Ganzkörperplan für Muskeln, Kraft und einen eisernen Willen" by Paul "Coach" Wade, Riva Verlag, 352 pages, Euro 19.90
