In American, the term "Tactical Athlete" is commonly used to describe special forces. Soldiers and police officers at the top level are mentally and physically challenged like top athletes.
TACTICAL ATHLETIC comes from the care for elite athletes and is dedicated entirely to the special needs of special forces. We talked with head coach Bernd Bachfischer about his functional offerings and
TACTICAL ATHLETIC.
SPARTANAT: Bernd, you are the man behind TACTICAL ATHLETIC. What is your educational background?
TACTICAL ATHLETIC: I am a sports scientist with a focus on "preventive & rehabilitative sports medicine," which is the most solid training in the areas of anatomy/physiology/biomechanics, as well as exercise science and control in Germany. After my training, I worked in a rehabilitation clinic in the "Elite Sports" department. Here were already the first tasks with officers and soldiers from special units.
"My expertise was first requested in 2016 by a German special police unit to improve and optimize a special tactical approach with athletic elements."
Rehabilitation teaches to pay attention to details, to think in processes, and to develop personal strategies. These are exactly the skills that make
TACTICAL ATHLETIC so effective. I turned my back on rehabilitation and founded a center for applied sports science. Here we have been working successfully for more than six years in the athletic field of elite athletes in currently 14 sports. I advise with my team lecturers from sports science faculties and renowned doctors in the fields of orthopedics, neurology, and surgery.
This expertise was first requested in 2016 by a German special police unit to improve and optimize a special tactical approach with athletic elements. After this first collaboration, further workshops followed, and since then we have been able to work with other units.
