HENSOLDT, the well-known supplier of Dynahawk, the fire control sight for shoulder-fired long gun systems, presents its solution for medium ranges at Enforce Tac in Nuremberg.
"We have specifically developed the 4x30 600 Fire Control Sight (FLV) for medium ranges. This means that we have taken distances of around 600 meters into account in the development of the system. But even though the FLV was developed for 600 meters, it is by no means limited to this target distance in use," explains Tadele Zeissig, Sales Manager. The fire control sight can be used with any platform in day and night vision conditions. With a small adaptation bridge, the FLV 4x30 600 can be easily attached to shoulder weapons of any kind, whether it is the entire RGW and Panzerfaust family from Dynamit Nobel Defense, the Carl Gustaf system from SAAB, or the AT4 family.
The FLV can be mounted on the weapon within seconds. Its operation is menu-driven and therefore self-explanatory. Depending on the ammunition, the corresponding operating menu is displayed and the selection of the firing mode is offered if necessary. The integrated ballistic calculation determines the aiming and lead angle depending on the measured distance and target speed (for moving targets), and then automatically displays the target mark.
Both the field of view and the magnification are intended for use in areas of around 600 meters. The selected components have been specially adapted for this application. With the FLV 4x30 600, HENSOLDT's Optronics business area has optimized fire control technology in terms of size, weight, and price. The 4x30 600 is half the size of Dynahawk, the well-known fire control sight used by German special forces on the shoulder-fired multi-purpose weapon Wirkmittel 90. Weighing less than 2 kg, it is a third lighter than its counterpart Dynahawk. And these aspects generate another advantage: the price, which is also lower for medium targeting compared to long ranges.
