The U.S. Army has awarded AeroVironment a major contract worth nearly $1 billion for the delivery of Loitering Munition of the Switchblade series, also known as Kamikaze UAVs, for the next five years. This is part of an effort, according to the military, to make infantry units as deadly as tank and other heavily armored vehicle units. By comparison, Germany's "Turning Point" does not have an armed drone or Loitering Munition.
