The US Army today announced a $1.14 billion contract with GDLS for the production of up to 96 Mobile Protected Firepower vehicles. MPF will be the first new military vehicle in over four decades, with the first unit expected to be equipped by the end of 2025.
The MPF, as a light tank, is designed to support infantry. Competitor BAE Systems had already been eliminated in March.
