The Bundeswehr is receiving digitally capable cable construction teams for autonomous cabling and network connection of command posts. The first four sets of these so-called network service teams (NServTrp) were recently handed over by the Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and Use of the Bundeswehr (BAAINBw), only eight months after the contract was signed with the company Leonardo. With the 43 ordered sets, both the German Army and the Cyber and Information Domain area will be equipped nationwide.
The NServTrp are digitally capable cable construction teams that enable autonomous network connection and the establishment of their own access networks over distances of up to two kilometers. These sets are designed to quickly and flexibly cable and connect the command posts according to demand.
For this purpose, the NServTrp are installed in cabins with ISO fittings, so that the sets can be transported flexibly with corresponding vehicles and can be used mobile even in the charged state. Both the cabin rear and the side walls are foldable, and the material is installed in shelf and storage systems.
These first four out of 43 sets are now to be delivered to the Army promptly and initially used for the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF). HERE is a current report on a digital command post exercise of the Bundeswehr.
