The military patrol of the Austrian Armed Forces received new assault rifles today. It is exciting that they differ from the previously modernized weapons, which are based on the Jagdkommando A2: The Sturmgewehr 77 A1/MP has a flat rail in the M1 receiver instead of fixed optics. For sighting, they have opted for the Aimpoint Micro with 3x Magnifier – close targets with the option of enlargement. The Laser-Light-Module VarioRay comes from Rheinmetall. Also interesting is the new muzzle brake Ase Utra on the weapon, along with a suppressor (image below). Also exciting: the weapon features the md-textil 2-Point Modular Sling, specifically procured for the 600 units of StG77 A1/MP for the military patrol. HERE is the Steyr AUG, which the Austrian police will soon receive.
