Books & more: Swing the kettlebell!

10/16/2012By Redaktion

Anyone can shoot cannonballs around. But if you want to get more out of it personally, you swing them. And actually, kettlebells are nothing more than cannonballs that have been equipped with handles and thus make ideal training weights for the body-conscious man of the world. The trend comes from Russia, accordingly the basic weight is 1 pood (which corresponds to 14 kilograms). Comrade Tsatsouline introduces in the book what you can do with kettlebells. Swinging, Jerking, Snatching - everything you know from the world of weightlifting. This is especially good because it strengthens your core. The book gives a good overview of kettlebell training. However, it does not replace a trainer. Especially because with kettlebells everything is swung, they are dangerous training devices for inexperienced or weak trainees who like to overestimate themselves. But they are also highly efficient, we recommend approaching them through an experienced trainer who will explain how to correctly perform the movements with weights.

Kettlebell-Training: The Fitness Secret of the Russian Special Forces” by Pavel Tsatsouline, Riva Verlag, 2012, 208 pages. The book is available in bookstores or on Amazon for €24.90.
