Books & more: The story of Adam Lee Brown

06/15/2012By Redaktion

Cocaine, Weed, Crystal Meth, Crack ... Not exactly what one associates with a SEAL, actually frowned upon in the Navy. And yet, a part of the life story of Adam Lee Brown, DEVGRU Operator, killed in Afghanistan in 2010.

Yes, Brown made mistakes, he was an addict and a seeker. Not even a Christian reeducation camp helped, even though the book can already claim a conversion experience. The goal that brought Adam Lee Brown in line to overcome his personal chaos was to be a SEAL.

And in this strength, perhaps one of the best: after all, he achieved what no one before him had achieved. Despite a training accident with Sim-Munition that cost him an eye, and a car accident on a mission where parts of the fingers of his right hand - his shooting hand, he then learned to shoot left-handed - were severed: Adam Lee Brown became a DEVGRU Operator.

In the book, you learn a lot about the person Brown, little about DEVGRU (all secret). A few years ago, the existence of DEVGRU was almost denied, now the elite of the SEALs has a face: Adam Lee Brown.

Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team SIX Operator Adam Brown”, by Eric Blehm, WaterBrook Press, 2012, 250 pages. The book is available in bookstores or on Amazon for €14.95.
