Black Powder Red Earth (BPRE) reinvents itself and has a new, current setting: Yemen. The new story, as a Graphic Novel, will have a length of 340 pages. Jon Chang and Josh Taylor, author and illustrator of BPRE, have increased the length by five to 10 percent in the final phase. BPRE is not a commercial series, but a product of passion. Accordingly, there is a crowdfunding campaign for the comic on Patreon.Black Powder Red Earth always wanted to show conflicts as they actually are or could be real. The individual characters speak the language of those people who were really there. Jon Chang has conducted countless interviews with people who were actually there. BPRE is not a "rah-rah story" about war, but at the same time, it has never been an "anti-war story" either. Conflicts are explained and shown, with the various interests of different warring parties seeming to collide - at the same time, there are no superheroes resolving this chaos. We are very excited for this new opus by Jon Chang and Josh Taylor. (Below is the Amazon link to the highly recommended, complete first series of BPRE.)
