01/14/2022By Redaktion

BAE Systems has signed a new contract with the Norwegian Army for the maintenance, upkeep, and operational readiness of the 144 CV90 infantry fighting vehicles, securing a new contract model to support the availability and continuous modernization of the fleet.

The seven-year contract with the Norwegian Defence Logistics Organization covers the procurement of components and equipment, as well as management and engineering services. It also includes the maintenance of the System Integration Laboratory, which ensures that both the customer and BAE Systems can monitor the current state and readiness of the vehicles to optimize the performance and capabilities of the entire fleet.

This model of gradual upgrade and continuous improvement, carried out in collaboration between the Norwegian Army, the local industry, and BAE Systems Hägglunds, will ensure that the battle-proven CV90 remains one of the most advanced infantry fighting vehicles in the world.

Norway is one of seven European users deploying the CV90. The others are Denmark, Estonia, Finland, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Switzerland. With nearly 1,300 vehicles in various configurations, the vehicle is designed to be continually modernized in the future to meet evolving missions.
