Automatic grenade launcher: 2B9 Vasilek

Grenade launchers are as fast as one can throw the grenade into the barrel. Not always true. The Soviets, who referred to artillery as the "God of the battlefield," wanted more. The result was the 2B9 Vasilek 82mm automatic launcher (and its various export models). Interestingly, there was never an equivalent of this type of weapon in the West.

Sometimes the 2B9 Vasilek looks more like a gun. In the foreground are the 4-shot magazines for the launcher.
