The government of the Czech Republic wants to replace the existing fleet of armored tracked vehicles with modern infantry fighting vehicles. General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) is participating in the tender with its modern infantry fighting vehicle ASCOD - introduced in Austria as ULAN.
For this new vehicle program, General Dynamics European Land Systems will continue its long-term strategy of industrial partnerships in the Czech Republic. As a proven and reliable partner, GDELS has already delivered 107 PANDUR 8x8 vehicles to the Czech Army with significant local industry participation, as the entire production of this modern protected wheeled vehicle was transferred to a Czech industrial partner.
On June 1, during the IDET defense exhibition in Brno, General Dynamics European Land Systems signed cooperation agreements with five local Czech companies for possible cooperation in the new procurement program for new infantry fighting vehicles.
"With this step, we confirm our strong commitment to the Czech Army to be able to deliver our ASCOD, one of the most modern and powerful infantry fighting vehicles. At the same time, our partnership strategy promotes the local industry. After all, the Czech Republic is one of GDELS's home markets and we can rely on a broad and proven network of partnerships with various industrial partners throughout the country," said Thomas Kauffmann, Vice President International Business and Services of General Dynamics European Land Systems.
