Tirol know-how for the German Federal Police and the State Riot Police. Franz Achleitner Fahrzeugbau receives a major subcontract for special protection vehicles for the German Federal Ministry of the Interior. The SURVIVOR R is an extremely mobile, off-road capable, and protected security vehicle that is already used in Europe as a tool for special forces. In numerous operations, the SURVIVOR R has already proven itself, successfully protecting the lives of the operatives.
The contract from the German Federal Ministry of the Interior includes a fixed delivery quantity of 55 vehicles in the versions for the Federal Police and the State Riot Police.
The SURVIVOR R is meant to replace the predecessor model "Sonderwagen 4," introduced 35 years ago. The delivery of the serial vehicles is expected to start in 2023 and be completed by 2026. The project is considered a flagship project for further European procurement of vehicles by the police and other security agencies and organizations.
The specialized vehicle manufacturer Achleitner from Radfeld, Tirol, developed the SURVIVOR R in cooperation with Rheinmetall and is serving as a subcontractor in this major contract.
