Choose IDF RAFAEL's FIRE WEAVER

The Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMOD) has announced the acquisition of FIRE WEAVER - a networked sensor-to-shooter system. The innovative system will serve the IDF ground forces and will be operational next year.

FIRE WEAVER was jointly developed by the IDF ground forces, DDR&D (Directorate of Defense Research and Development of IMOD), and RAFAEL as part of the digitalization process of the IDF battlefield. The system connects all participants in combat and enables the rapid, precise, effective, and secure closing of sensor-to-shooter loops. As a result, FIRE WEAVER significantly optimizes operational performance and reduces the duration of combat.

FIRE WEAVER provides tactical forces with GPS-independent, geopixel-based tactical common language between all sensors and shooters, ensuring optimal situational awareness and improved battlefield understanding. Targets, blue forces, sensitive locations, and other points of interest are shared instantly and accurately, and based on 3D models, transferred to the system visors using RAFAEL's advanced image processing technology. This allows fighters to perceive the exact location of the enemy from any viewpoint and distance, regardless of their own position.

In addition, FIRE WEAVER utilizes RAFAEL's advanced artificial intelligence algorithms to process combat data, analyze it, and prioritize fire assignment. FIRE WEAVER calculates the optimal shooter for each target based on parameters such as location, line of sight, effectiveness, current ammunition status, etc., minimizing collateral damage and friendly fire in real-time while considering rules of engagement.

The system includes an application for the fire management terminal, which gives the commander full control over the entire process, including cases where multiple sensor-to-shooter loops are running simultaneously.

FIRE WEAVER is a complement to any C4I system. While ordinary C4I systems are designed for headquarters and command-level, FIRE WEAVER delivers precise real-time combat information to soldiers displayed directly on their weapon sights, preventing errors. Furthermore, FIRE WEAVER fully complies with the security standard MIL STD 882.

Last month, RAFAEL announced that FIRE WEAVER was also selected as part of a study by the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) for the creation of a glass battlefield to support dynamic operations (ErzUntGlas).
