Ruck & Bag

REVIEW: TASMANIAN TIGER Modular Equipment Case

01/13/2023By Redaktion

Creating modularity was definitely the idea behind the latest innovation from TASMANIAN TIGER. A new shoulder bag has been developed that users can customize for their needs, equipment, and intended use. The TT Modular Equipment Case is like a Swiss Army knife among bags. Let's take a closer look.

The sturdy-looking, well-padded shoulder bag measures 39 cm x 25 cm x 15 cm, is made from durable CORDURA® 700 den and T-Square Rip FD, has a total volume of 15 liters, and weighs approximately 1.25 kg. It is available in Titanium Gray, Black, and Coyote Brown.

The 5 cm wide length-adjustable shoulder strap has a slightly curved, ergonomic, rubberized, and adjustable 8 cm x 32 x 0.7 cm shoulder pad.

There are eight laser-cut MOLLE/PALS slots on each narrow front side, allowing the user to expand the shoulder bag with various equipment pouches.

The padded flap of the shoulder bag can be secured with two Wojin quick-release buckles or a 16 cm x 4 cm wide Velcro closure.

The inside of the flap features the counterpart to the Velcro closure. Simply unfold it, and the bag can be quickly closed with the Velcro.

The flap covers the shoulder bag all around, protecting the contents from dirt, dust, liquids, etc. from the outside. The bag is not waterproof as a result.

Quick access to the contents of the bag from the top can be done via a two-way YKK zipper. Also visible here is the integrated handle, which allows for easy transport of the bag and supports quick access.

A flat zipper pocket of 20 cm x 26 cm allows for the storage of documents, equipment, etc.

Inside the lid flap, there is a transparent mesh pocket of 13 cm x 26 cm with a YKK zipper. The zipper slider of the inner pocket is optimally protected to prevent sensitive displays or optics from getting scratched.

The side walls of the TT Modular Equipment Case are well padded on all four sides, as well as on the bottom and the lid, protecting the delicate equipment from external impacts. There is no one hundred percent protection here, otherwise the bag would be more heavily padded and rigid. The MOLLE/PALS rows allow for the attachment of various gear pouches, magazine holders, and holsters.

Inside, a pre-inserted compartment for a 12-inch laptop is included. This is fastened with Velcro, can be easily removed and extended. My 15-inch laptop fit easily, plus two A4 folders.

I removed all the inner parts and ended up with a total of 22 modules for flexible interior design. Generously sized Velcro areas with laser-cut MOLLE/PALS are attached to the side walls in the interior, while only Velcro areas without laser-cut MOLLE/PALS are on the front sides.

The different sized modules all have Velcro and there are also multiple elastic bands. The user has free and flexible options for how the bag should be set up and equipped.

CONCLUSION: Due to its modular design, the messenger bag is suitable for multiple and various uses. The TT Modular Equipment Case is flexible and versatile.

The messenger bag can be used as a range bag at the shooting range, as a camera bag for photographers, as a transport bag for a drone, for storing forensics equipment for CSI, electronics and laptops, concealed weapon carrying bag, as a duty bag for service, regular office bag, etc.

The TT Modular Equipment Case  by TASMANIAN TIGER can be purchased for 180 EUR through various retailers. Available in the colors titanium gray, coyote brown, and black.
