More protection: Mehler opens second production facility

The Mehler Vario System Group, the European market leader for ballistic protection and carrying systems with five subsidiaries worldwide, announced today the opening of a second plant at the Fulda location. This significant expansion of production capacities is based in particular on the worldwide increasing demand for ballistic protective equipment. Investments in the double-digit million range were made for the new 26,000 m² second plant at the Fulda location and the acquisition of production equipment and machinery.

Located in Fulda, Mehler Vario System currently employs nearly 300 people. With the opening of the second production plant, an additional 200 new positions will be created. "The opening of the new plant is an important milestone on the growth path of our group of companies. We are expanding our production capacities as a group of companies to further enhance our position as a leading provider of ballistic protection systems and also creating new jobs in the Fulda region." - said Thomas Homberg, CEO of the Mehler Vario System Group. He is also the managing director of Mehler Vario System GmbH, which he co-leads with Mario Amschlinger.
