REVIEW: Leatherman CRATER C33x

03/24/2018By Redaktion

Sometimes you don't need a multitool. At least not one with 15 or more functions. Even Leatherman, who started with all that stuff, have realized that and recreated the oldest multitool in the world: a pocket knife: the Leatherman C33x.

Looking at the other side: C33x offers two ways to carry. One is with a classic pocket clip, the other is with a carabiner. So, you can either carry it in your pocket or hang it on something.

The blade is 6.6 cm long and has both a regular and a serrated edge. It also has a small blade lifter so you can open it with one hand.

The blade is nicely centered and locked with a Liner Lock. Holds perfectly. We expected nothing less from Leatherman.

The hook on the back is not reluctant, because it's also a bottle opener. Beer and knife? Leatherman has the male minimal consensus in mind when sending C33x out into the world. If you don't like it, the hook can also be removed.

When closed, the knife measures 9.82 cm and weighs a light 66.9 grams. It feels nice in the hand and is available with a black or silver blade. The handle scales are made of glass fiber reinforced nylon.

CONCLUSION: Small and solid, a handy knife for all situations. It has what you need. The carabiner and blade lifter are fun features.

You can get the Leatherman C33x at your trusted knife dealer for about 25 euros.
