REVIEW: SNOW PEAK Single Wall Cup Titanium 600

06/19/2021By Redaktion

Albert Einstein: "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Okay, maybe a bit melodramatic, but how else can you explain ordering exactly the same cup, just with 150 ml more content for 40 euros??? Well, Gearheads do what Gearheads have to do...

So the 600er, the big brother of the 450er cup from SNOW PEAK that we have already tested. The same noble design, the same good workmanship awaits us when unpacking and first touch. Again, the cup is delivered in a mesh bag. By the way: in the long-term test of the 450er, we found out that the mesh bag can also be used as a permanent scratch protection during transport for the very meticulous among you. This time, the "Single Wall Cup 600" from SNOW PEAK already weighs a hefty 79.3 grams. For comparison: a simple 1 liter Nalgene bottle weighs 180 grams. Basically, the cup is really identical to its little brother. The same shape, the same foldable handles, the same design. However, it has two (decisive) advantages: Everyone, really everyone will now notice that you have a titanium cup when drinking coffee at the camp. Of course, this can also be a good "small talk catcher" at bushcraft meetings (for hardcore guys in the office).

The second, admittedly more important advantage is that you can cook somewhat reasonably in the larger cup. This time, we can fit the entire contents of the infamous canned bean goulash without spilling anything while cooking (or heating). However, this time we notice one more drawback than last time: you have to constantly stir. Otherwise, it will burn mercilessly, whether it's goulash or milk in the pot.

CONCLUSION: If that doesn't matter to you, you get a beautiful, practical cup from Japan, which is surely not often seen given its proud price.

The SNOW PEAK Single Wall Cup Titanium 600 is available wherever SNOW PEAK is sold. At WALK ON THE WILDE SIDE, it costs 34.90 euros.
