GORUCK and the Navy SEAL Foundation (NSF) enter into an "Official Partnership". The goal of this partnership is to create awareness and support for the specialized programs and services of the NSF that benefit the soldiers of the Naval Special Warfare (NSW), their families, and veterans, while promoting the lifestyle of "GORUCK".
GORUCK was founded by former Green Beret Jason McCarthy after leaving active duty in 2008. The company evolved from an equipment company to a lifestyle and event brand, pioneering the introduction of "Rucking" as a fitness activity.
Rucking - Moving while carrying weight, is the foundation for special forces training and GORUCK events. Rucking combines strength and endurance, is adaptable to anyone's goals, and is a popular, empowering activity for those who hate to run or find it boring.
The Navy SEAL Foundation is the leading charitable organization providing immediate and ongoing support to the Naval Special Warfare community and their families since 2000. They offer over 30 specialized programs in five areas of emphasis: Educational Opportunities, Warriors and Family Support, Tragedy Assistance, Survivor Support, and Legacy Preservation.
As part of this new official partnership, all races in the Navy SEAL Foundation's 2019 Joggin' for Frogmen 5K Series will include a GORUCK participant category, with registration proceeds benefiting the NSF. Additionally, GORUCK will conduct an annual online fundraising campaign to support the foundation, allowing participants to register online and perform Rucking-based activities to support the NSF, regardless of where they are in the world.
